New Mercies Community Church

Whoever you are, wherever you have been, you are welcome here!

At New Mercies Community Church, we hold firmly to the conviction that Jesus Christ calls everyone to a radical form of discipleship.

This involves making His will our will and His purpose our purpose!! At New Mercies this plays out in several distinct ways:

welcome

We believe that Jesus Christ desires to see everyone — regardless of their story — experience a heartfelt welcome to worship where they will hear the Gospel proclaimed loud and clear.

Our desire is to remove barriers that might prevent anyone from attending, and to nurture an environment where everyone is not only welcomed but also experiences genuine belonging.

We are committed to fostering a church culture where everyone feels seen, accepted, and integral to the body of Christ.

What to expect When you visit

When you visit New Mercies Community Church, you can expect to be welcomed as you are.

We want to you to find a warm and relaxed atmosphere, Christ-centered worship, biblical teaching that is faithful and practical, and people who are glad you came.

As a young church, we don’t have the full range of age-based programs. Instead, we operate from the premise that the best way to minister to our entire church family is through families. Our family focused ministry approach equips parents to disciple their children through intergenerational ministries. At the same time, everyone is a critical contributor to our mission of growing the Kingdom of Heaven in Madison and SW Huntsville. Our belief is the best and most impactful spiritual formation comes through direct involvement in this mission. And who knows, maybe God is calling you to join with us to build out some of those additional programs.

Whether you have followed Jesus for years, are exploring faith for the first time, or are returning to church after time away, there is a place for you here.

Our desire is to create an environment where people from every background can worship together, hear the Good News of Jesus Christ clearly proclaimed, build meaningful relationships, and experience genuine belonging.

We know visiting a church can feel intimidating, especially if you are unsure what to expect or have had difficult experiences in the past. At New Mercies, our aim is to remove those barriers and help every guest feel seen, valued, and invited into community.

What We Believe

About the Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word, breathed out by Him. It is completely true and is the final authority for determining what is true (what we believe) and what is right (how we live). All truth claims and ethical standards must be tested by the Bible.
John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe in one God, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and completely God, sharing all of the divine attributes in a perfect loving community. God is love, just, holy, righteous, and good.
Matthew 28:19; John 1:14; Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. After living a sinless life, He died on the cross as the substitute for humanity’s sin. His resurrection from the grave affirms His victory over sin and death. Jesus came to save those who are separated from God.
Matthew 1:18-2:12; John 1:1-18; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Corinthians 12; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15-23; Hebrews 1:1-13; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 1:1-2:2

We believe the Holy Spirit equips Christ-followers with spiritual gifts for serving others, and guides them in the journey to become like Christ.
John 14:15-26; Acts 2:1-33; Romans 8:1-27; Galatians 5:16-23; 1 John 2:20-27

We believe God created humans in his image. Because of our rebellion, we were all separated from God. However, we can all be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. With that reconciliation comes glorious purpose – to be Christ’s ambassadors, joined with Him in carrying out the ministry of reconciliation to all creation!!
Genesis 1:26-31; Romans 3:10-18; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 3:16, 6:35-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:28-39; Philippians 1:6; 2 Timothy 2:13; 1 Peter 1:3-9; 1 John 5:11-13
